Of the books...Ah, what wonderful choices, Susanna! Of the books I've read from your list, my favorites are <em>Lazarillo de Tormes</em> and Quevedo's <em>The Swindler</em>, though I read them in Spanish and translations of these older works are notoriously uneven in my experience. I have a different Chejfec out from the library right now, and I might get around to a reread of <em>The Celestina</em> as well. Anyway, as you can probably tell, I'm all geeked up to see what you think about these works.
